Official: Ancelotti announces Real Madrid squad list for the Club World Cup and excludes 6 players

The Italian, Carlo Ancelotti, announced the Real Madrid travel list to compete in the Club World Cup in Morocco. The white team will begin its campaign against the Egyptian club Al-Ahly, next Wednesday, at ten o’clock in the evening, Saudi time.

Real Madrid has witnessed a decline in results since the resumption of club competitions after the 2018 World Cup, as it lost the Spanish Super Cup title to Barcelona and fell behind by eight full points behind the Catalan team in the La Liga standings table.

The list, which included 22 players, saw the absence of six players due to injury, in addition to calling up 4 players from the youth team: Lucas Canizares, Marvel, Mario Martin and Arebas.

Absent from the injury list: Karim Benzema, Thibaut Courtois, Lucas Vazquez, Ferland Mendy, Eden Hazard and Militao. Marca newspaper said that Real Madrid preferred not to risk these players so as not to exacerbate the injury, provided that those who recovered were summoned to the final match in the event that the team succeeded in overcoming the Egyptian Al-Ahly hurdle.

The list:

Goalkeepers: Lunin, Luis Lopez, Canizares.

Defence: Carvajal, Alaba, Vallejo, Nacho, Odriozola, Rudiger, Marvell.

Midfield: Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Camavinga, Valverde, Choameni, Dani Ceballos, Mario Martin, Aribas.

Attack: Marco Asensio, Vinicius Junior, Rodrigo Jose, Mariano Diaz.
