Ferdinand on Enzo Fernandez: “I’ve never seen anything like this”

He arrived at Stamford Bridge with uncapped expectations in the whole of Europe due to his high price tag, but Enzo Fernandes surprised them all with his performances in those first two weeks as a Chelsea player.
The English club paid 121 million euros to Benfica in this winter market for his services and the Argentine midfielder responded more than necessary in his first two appearances for the Blues.
There was no adjustment period for Enez Fernandez. He reached the green rectangle directly. The world champion has played the two matches he has played since his arrival in full. 180 minutes available, 180 minutes played.
His performance not only attracted attention within the London club itself, but also admiration from outside it. Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has publicly expressed his surrender to the Argentine midfielder. Above all, with regard to his personality and adaptability.
Ferdinand said in statements to BT Sport: “I think his self-confidence is the most characteristic of a very young player like him with his career in the past year … I have never seen anything like this before.”
The centre-back is mainly focused on being able to take charge of Argentina’s midfield at the age of 21. On this, Ferdinand said: “The pressure that the Argentines put on him to make good performances in the World Cup … (Enzo) came and played like any other match.”
And he ended: “There are some players who we think need time to adapt to the English Premier League, and I don’t feel that it is this type of player.”
